Work with the Creative Industries

Maria's professional work within the creative industries involves translations for the stage, theatre and film criticism for print and broadcast media, film programming, and consultancy work for a range of private and public bodies. She has worked as an advisor to theatre directors in the UK on the staging of Spanish work, including Bijan Sheibani (The House of Bernarda Alba, Almeida Theatre 2012, Damned for Despair, National Theatre, 2012). Maria has longstanding interests in public engagement and research integrity. She has conducted over 500 public interviews for bodies including the British Film Institute, the Norwegian National Theatre, Mirage Festival Oslo, Bergen International Festival and the European Theatre Convention. She has contributed to blogs and short pieces on research integrity and research assessment, integrity and care in knowledge exchange and research impact and collaborations with the creative industries.
